02 · Why Us

The industry is retiring. We're just getting started.

Three quarters of CPAs are near retirement. Your business shouldn't have to switch accountants every few years. We're building a firm for the long run. The person you hire is the person who does your work, and you work directly with the principal.

In Plain English

You get one point of contact, for the long haul, not a revolving door.

Responsive

You email, we reply, usually same day and always within one business day.

Cloud-native

Secure portal, e-sign, real-time books. No shoeboxes, no fax machines.

Plain-English

We explain the why, not just the number. You'll actually understand your taxes.

03 · Common Questions

Common questions.

Do I have to come to an office? add

No. Clearway Accounting is fully remote. All communication is by email and phone. Documents are shared through a secure client portal, tax returns are e-filed, and signatures are electronic. No office visits required, wherever you're located.

How much does a tax return cost? add

Business tax returns (S-corp, partnership, C-corp, 1040 Sch C) typically range from $1,500 to $10,000 per year depending on complexity. Individual returns typically range from $1,000 to $5,000. Every return is quoted with a fixed fee before work starts.

How much does monthly bookkeeping cost? add

Monthly bookkeeping starts at $300/month for businesses with lower transaction volume and scales to $1,500/month or more depending on complexity. Every engagement starts with a fixed-fee quote so you know the cost before we begin.

Who actually handles my work? add

One senior professional handles your work directly. The person who prepares your return is the same person you communicate with throughout the year, so you always know who is doing your work and how to reach them.

Do you serve businesses in my state? add

Yes. Clearway Accounting is based in New England (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine), and as a fully remote firm we've worked with clients in nearly every state. We prepare federal and multi-state filings, so wherever you're located, it isn't a barrier. Reach out and we'll confirm we're the right fit.

Can you handle multi-state tax filings? add

Yes. We prepare multi-state business and individual tax returns, including apportionment schedules for businesses operating across multiple states.

What is the difference between tax compliance and tax advisory? add

Tax compliance means preparing and filing your returns accurately. Tax advisory means proactively spotting opportunities to improve your tax position, including entity structure, retirement plans, year-end projections, and transaction planning. At Clearway Accounting, advisory is built into the relationship from the start.

How does onboarding work? add

Every engagement begins with a written scope and a fixed fee agreed to before work starts. Once agreed, you receive access to a secure client portal for document sharing.
